How many wild camping pitches do you have?
There are just 6 spacious wild camping pitches at Wonderful Wilderness so you will have all the peace and quiet you need.
We also have 4 Group Pitches available to book for larger camping parties.
Do you have any close neighbours?
We have some local farms but no neighbours near Wonderful Wilderness apart from some local sheep!
Do you accept campers / campervans?
Yes, we do. But please phone before booking.
We do not have electrical hook ups.
Do you allow campfires?
Yes! Absolutely! What's camping without a campfire?!
We can also provide firewood at £10 per bundle to keep you cosy. Or, you can bring your own. (Taking wood/logs or cutting trees yourself is not allowed).
The Shepherd's Hut and Bell Tent will be ready stocked with wood for the wood burner, but outside campfire wood is chargeable.
Where are you?
We are located 40 minutes between from Snowdonia National Park and Welshpool. We are 40 minutes from fabulous beaches and a bike ride away from the fantastic Lake Vyrnwy. However, we are remote! The closest/café and pub is approximately 7/8 miles away. Go to our Contact Us page for the map.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, we welcome dogs at Wonderful Wilderness. However, all dogs must be kept under strict control at all times as sheep occupy parts of the farm and are in abundance in the local area.
If you need to leave your dog(s) with us whilst you visit the local attractions, this can be arranged for reasonable fee. Either speak to us during your stay (on a first come first basis), or email contact@wonderfulwilderness.com to book in advance.
Can I fish in the river?
Yes! As long as you have a rod licence, you can fish our river.
Do you provide tents?
No, unfortunately not. Please bring your own.
Do you have a shower?
Yes, we have powerful hot showers which are cleaned and checked on a regular basis. The use of the showers are included in the cost of camping.
Do you have drinking water?
We will provide you with drinking water upon request and are
always happy to top up your container.
How many tents can we bring?
Our pitches are very spacious and we do not limit the number of
tents per pitch. You are free to bring what equipment makes your camping experience as good as it can be.
What type of toilet facilities do you provide?
We have clean composting loos with sinks and running water. These toilets are checked and cleaned regularly. We provide soap, paper towels and toilet paper.
Where can we wash our pans / cooking utensils?
You may wash up in the river or in the sinks in the toilet huts. Please bring your own dishcloths/brushes/tea towels. We ask that you leave the sink rinsed down ready for the next person.
We are a group who would like to book, is this possible?
Yes! Whole fields are available for hire with toilet facilities. It is possible to cater for corporate and private events/parties. Please email contact@wonderfulwilderness.com or call 01938 820836 or 07384 368512 if you have any group bookings or special booking requests.
Can we drive to our pitch?
Some pitches are accessible by car and you can park within your pitch. Other pitches are elevated and inaccessible by car.
For those pitches which are elevated, we ask that you park in the designated car park and we will take your gear up to your pitch for you by quad bike and trailer.
